  • Der entgegengesetzte Prozess zur Rekombination ist die "Generation", bei der durch Ionisation ein Elektron und ein Loch erzeugt wird.
  • Eine elektronische Messung mit einer Photodiode ist nicht möglich, da die Schnelligkeit einer Photodiode durch die Rekombinationszeit der Elektron-Loch-Paare begrenzt wird, welche typischerweise im Nanosekundenbereich liegt.
  • Wenn das dabei emittierte Auger-Elektron auch noch aus derselben Hauptschale kommt, dann spricht man vom "Super-Coster-Kronig-Übergang", beispielsweise L1L2L3.
  • Nach dem Eindringen der Elektronen in die Probe können vor dem optischen Übergang zunächst inelastische Prozesse stattfinden, bei der die Elektronen strahlungslos einen Teil ihrer Energie abgeben.
