The Rüstem Pasha Mosque was unique among Sinan’s many mosques for hits lavishly decorated, tiled interior. Rüstem Pasha may have ordered the mosque’s characteristic İznik tiles in order to support court designer Kara Memi, who was known for elegant floral designs.
